What does it mean when it asks for adjustments to louisiana taxable income?

Louisiana allows certain types of income to be exempt from LA state taxes.  Some examples are Louisiana State Teachers' Income, Louisiana State Retirement Income, etc.  If you look at the Louisiana tax return, look for the exempt incomes and the accompanying codes on Schedule E of the Louisiana return.  I'm linking that publication below.
