I've been unable to transmit my IL state return. Software says I need to update the software first, but when I update it, the response is that it is up to date. The loop continues. I've attempted this on multiple days after already paying the fee to efile my return.

I see that turbo tax has provided some manual state update links, is there one for Illinois?

I spent over a hour with Turbo tax support and all they suggested was sending the state in instead of electronically filing- not what i paid for
I tried the manual update- didn't work
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling- it didn't work
I tried clearing cookies and files- It didn't work
I tried fixing errors before uninstalling/ re installing- it didn't work
I see a work around for certain states, when will the remaining states be supported?
All i want to do is file my state taxes with the software i paid for that wont let me....................
The form to fill out requesting a refund is time consuming. Printing out and attaching W-2's for 5 tax filings is not what i paid for!

Isn't funny how TB tax got paid b/4 our returns are complete. I was able to find a manual download for my federal return but nothing for the state. My question to TB is why do I have to search for a fix for your problem.

Same - continuous loop of trying to submit, then being told to update, then check for updates to find that none are available. I have already paid for the electronic submission, and I have already filed my federal taxes. Please fix ASAP!

The manual updates did not work at all. We had already updated the program, and it is fully up to date. I have also uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled, re-updated, and still the same problem. Looks like many other people are having the same issue. PLEASE FIX!

I was able to finally transmit.
I am attaching the message that was sent to me that solved my problem.
I called Turbotax and did exactly what ChondelLO told me to do.
None of the suggested workaround had worked.
They pushed a new state to me. Once it was downloaded, I was able to transmit.
Please contact Customer Care and let the agent on the phone know that this is a known issue and that you need to be pushed a download; a federal soft and then a state. Once the new download is pushed, you should be able to e-file with no further issues. To contact Customer Care please click the link below.
So to be clear, this previous message was from a TurboTax employee who is saying "OMG - I finally got it..."? Ridiculous. I am not continuing to waste more time on the phone for a known issue. I called AGAIN and spoke to a specialist who confirmed this is a known "glitch" - STILL NO FIX - and suggested I fill out the request form for a refund, which she sent to me.
I just got off the phone yet again with TT and got the same answer I gotten for the last 3 weeks..."they are working on a fix for IL"!!! They ere not familiar with the issue and acted like I was the only person who is having this problem? Really? I tried all the suggested fixes from multiple forums and none worked!
This is simply ridiculous. To my knowledge, they have only provided fixes for NY and Mass which were sent out 3 weeks ago! We are now ~7 weeks away from 4/15 deadline and still no fix for IL! They did suggest printing and mailing which really got me upset seeing I already paid for IL e-filing!
Bottom lime is we need to keep checking and hope they get this resolved or we will need to print out the forms and snail mail our returns!

Why doesn't Turbo tax publish a fix or a way to "push" a state update to you?
They should fix this before it becomes like the Corona Virus and spreads beyond control.....

You need to tell them you have tried all suggested workarounds and that you need to have a new state download "pushed" to you.
@jeffreyml , I asked the same question. The person on the phone told me this was what they were told to do. Some people apparently had zero issues.
I think they also want to make sure that people paid instead of offering it free.
