Software does not carry over, from the Business Form 1041 program, any U.S. Obligations (income) dividends deduction to be used as a deduction on state taxes. Additionally, Form 504, Schedule A line 5 "subtractions" does not permit any entry for a modification amount, and carrying the negative amount forward into Form 504D for filing is considered an "override" in the software.
All help appreciated, especially from TTax.

Ultimately, you may have to enter the figure manually in Forms Mode.
Thank you tagteam Level 15. Unfortunately field will not accept any manual input, including an "override" in forms mode. And the field is supposed to transfer data "in" from another form but doesn't.
Unfortunately, TT support (phone) wants to charge me MONEY for me to discuss/suggest a software error. Screw them. They are above critique, and do not possiblymake errors.
(The form I meant to refer to in my post is [MD] 504, Schedule A, line 5.... from a CD install)

Since the MD return is print only (i.e., no e-file available) and an override cannot be done, you might be better off simply printing off the form with a blank line for that entry and then manually entering the figure(s) and mailing the return.
tagteam level 15:
Exactly what I just did. And I thank you again.
When you're a co. with big big big bucks, why should you have a portal for constructive dialog?
After all, TT Business for Trusts is free, right?
Some people would label this extreme, audacious chutzpah.
