Trouble with Virginia state amended return

On my original Virginia state return, I had neglected to report an extension payment for the taxes due. I paid the taxes due (again) with the original return. I am filing an amended state return to get a refund of the duplicated payment. I have followed all instructions. The Worksheet for Amended Returns shows the correct amounts including line 8: "tax you overpaid". But Virginia form VA760CG shows 0 in line 28: tax overpayment, and a refund of $0.  How do I get the amount on the Worksheet to flow through to the Form 760?

don't bother to amend. the State of Virginia will notice that you overpaid and refund your money.
