To enter it, type energy credit in the search box and click on jump to energy credit.
This credit is a non refundable credit meaning you must have a tax liability from taxable income (after subtracting your standard or itemized deductions from your AGI), for it to offset in order to get it. If you can't use it all this year because you don't have enough tax liability to offset it, the balance will carry forward to next year.
