You have not told us anything to support the idea that the software made a mistake.   Why did the IRS say you owed?   If they sent a letter that says you owe more what was the reason given?

The accuracy guarantee is for the calculations.  If you made a mistake by entering something wrong or left out income, omitted information, or entered something in the wrong place, etc. the accuracy guarantee does not cover user errors.

The imported my tax info. Everything matched my w-2 to what they had.
It says on letter from dept of rev:

”An adjustment was made to the return files on the account and period referred. A summary of these charges are included with this notice.
This resulted in additional tax, interest, and/or penalty due on this account.

    Your assessed tax is $2000

Interest will accrue in accordance with the Department’s calculation method (Rev-1611) until the tax is paid.

I am just shocked because like I said I’ve been using turbo tax for years and never once had an issue like this. I usually do my taxes myself first than just input the info in so I make sure my tax calculations and theirs match but this year I didn’t I just went with what they came up with. I mean if I had an extra $2000 I’d pay it and no worries. They should at least refund my fees they charged that would help pay the amount owed.
It says I can file an appeal with dept of rev. I may try that I want to contact them which is almost impossible at this time of year to actually talk to someone. I want them to send me a copy of how they did my taxes vs how turbo tax did it.
It does say one of my 1099 forms submitted with my return is ineligible for Pennsylvania withholding. (So in my thoughts if it’s ineligible for pa withholding then shouldn’t I get whatever taxes I paid into it back?
after looking further it says my w-2 withholdings was such and such and then they adjusted it to $2000 less. Hmmm 🤔 🤔 then what was on my w-2 so it was not user error. I actually don’t even know if it was turbo tax error is a new rule maybe the didn’t know? Maybe dept of rev messed up? I did try to call turbo tax tonight but was on hold forever and decided to hand up and ask here.
    Idk I’m so confused 😐

I hope this clarifies more than what I put at first  Any advice or input would be amazing. Thanks I’m advance for anyone who has suggestions or thinks they may know what happened.

    I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE IRS/STATE

TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after your return was filed, so no one at TurboTax knows about a letter you received from the IRS or the state.

(what the letters from the IRS mean)
