Is a state whistleblower award taxable in the state that issued the award or in the new state you moved to before the award was issued?

State whistleblower award

Each state has its own rules. You would need to check with your state. If you received the income while living in state #1, it would not be taxable to state #2 since you did not receive the income while living there.
