State return turbotax not working

Hi, I purchased turbotax deluxe and did my federal and state (MI) tax returns.  My friend in California needed my help with his business tax return, so  I also purchased (separately) you Turbotax Home and Business, which was supposed to come with it's own State software product.  When I tried to do his CA state tax return, Turbo tax asked that I pay (thinking I was attempting to 2 states.  How can I get around this issue.  Thanks, Joseph Aoun (20+ years with Turbotax)

You only paid for the download.  To efile you must pay additional charge.  I just experienced this myself and I am NOT happy about it.  VERY deceiving!  Hope this helps.
