I purchased the desktop version of TurboTax which came with AZ and IL for state filing. I meant to use my free file for IL but started AZ instead. Now, when I try to select IL it tries to charge me for the additional state. How do I go about selecting IL as my free state filing?
Thank You

Because you have already selected Arizona as your free state, there is no way to undo that choice and select Illinois as your free state instead. Your only options are to pay for another state, or contact customer service and explain your situation. Thanks for the reply.
Curious: What if I delete my information, uninstall TurboTax, reinstall and start all over again? I wonder if that would work.
Why does it matter which is the free state program? You still have to buy a second state program download. And it is $20 to efile EACH state return including the first one.
After going through my Federal Return I realized that I don't need to file a second state return; I just need to file one. So I chose to file the return for the state in which I spent the majority of the year. Plus, the second return would cost 40 bucks. That's 40 bucks I don't need to spend.
