SS Disability

Turbo Tax is calculating income from my husbands SS Disability (Form SSA-1099) for my State Taxes. They show an income of over $7,000 from Social Security. This is not true! My husbands SS Disability income in non taxable. Why does Turbo Tax insist on putting it in as taxable income?

Are you sure it's not being subtracted off your state return?  If part of his SSDI is taxable on the federal return it has to be subtract from the federal AGI on the state return.  What state?

My SSA 1099 has a statement on the header that says. Part of your social security benefits shown in box 5 may be taxable income.

Correct, depending on your income and marital status, Social Security may be taxable.
