I understand that IT-237 is not supported by Turbo Tax AND that I will need to fill out the form separately and mail in the entire return. HOWEVER: I do not see any way to add the credit amount to IT-201 line 71 manually or to form IT-201-ATT line 18 which it references. Neither line will allow manual entry.
Any ideas how to complete the Turbo Tax IT-201 form on the PC before printing and mailing with the separately filled out IT-237 form? Otherwise the entire IT-201 will need to be done manually, which seems crazy....

You didn't say whether you are using TurboTax Online or the CD/Download TurboTax software. I assume you are using the CD/Download software. There is no way to enter the credit in TurboTax Online.
The only way that I can see to enter the credit is to use an override. It seems to work, but using an override cancels the TurboTax accuracy guarantee.
These instructions are for Windows. The procedure will be basically the same if you are using a Mac, but the details might be different.
You don't enter the credit directly on Form IT-201-ATT line 18. In forms mode, open Form IT-201-ATT. On line 12a click on the space for either Code or Amount, then click the little magnifying glass to QuickZoom to the Other Tax Credits and Taxes Worksheet. Scroll down to Section D of the worksheet and click on line 9, which is for IT-237. Make sure you are in Section D. There are other IT-237 entries in other sections of the worksheet. Either press Ctrl-D or right-click line 9 and click Override on the pop-up menu. Then you will be able to enter the amount of the credit on line 9. The amount will then appear on Form IT-201-ATT line 12, and it will be added in to line 13, and will be included in the total on line 18, which flows to IT-201 line 71.

Thank-you! I was missing the info on how to override, all set now.
@rjs can i do something similar on the online program?
No, the desktop version is very different. See How do I switch from TurboTax Online to TurboTax CD/Download?

@steve51523 See the first paragraph of my earlier answer above. It says "There is no way to enter the credit in TurboTax Online."
how do i override on a mac? the control D doesn't work. It wont let me type on the form 201-att or add it to the forms.
So, I am using the online software
and understand that I cannot manually change the forms online,
and that I will need to complete the Form IT-237 manually,
and that I will need to print my state forms and submit by mail,
But...
I have already completed the rest of the state return online, and would like to use this work so as not to have to start over manually—should/can I print/PDF the state form already completed on TurboTax online, and just add this one credit (calculated from the Form IT-237) somewhere?
You can transfer your completed return to the desktop program, enter the credit (so your final amounts will be correct), and then mail your return with the IT-237 form.
Here's How to Transfer from TurboTax Online to TurboTax Desktop.
Then, In FORMS mode, open Form IT-201-ATT.

Thanks @MarilynG1 - when I follow the instructions in that link, and I get to the Tools Popup where I should be able to download my .tax file, there is no option "Save your 2024 return to your computer"... any idea why this might be? do I need to pay for TT online first? IF so will I need to buy the desktop version as well?
I found a workaround to this - if you purchase the desktop software first, and install and login to that, you can import your progress directly from inside.
