CA State Return - issue with refund calculation

Hello

I have a strange issue with CA State return calculation.

All my information was carried over from previous years information and I started by Federal and by the time I finished it, it showed I have CA Refund.

But, the moment, I started State filing process, the window says, transferring (personal and other) information from Federal to State - and the CA Refund switched over to CA TAx Due nearly $5K (and it calculates Underpayment penalty too at a later stage). It has some issue with my previous years CA Tax Refund - (which it says not taxable), but, the refund it has is somehow more than 2 times what I got.

I tried deleting the state & Federal and started fresh - still the same issue. Seems to have some issue with how it gets information from my previous years returns.

I calculated the same tax with Credit karma - and it shows the refund correctly. Not sure what is going on. Any one facing similar issues?

CA State Return - issue with refund calculation

Finally was able to figure out the issue. I had 2 states return filed last year and the information that was pulled from my previous yrs return was for the other state I moved out of. So, it thought I did not pay any Local State tax. This should be fixed - the system should not automatically pull the wrong state from previous yrs data.
