Unemployment compensation is taxable on a federal tax return.

Enter unemployment compensation in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to unemployment compensation

If you had taxes withheld from the unemployment compensation -

On the screen What's the total amount you received on your 1099-G? check the box Federal or state income tax was withheld on this payment.

When I filled out forms the self employed part was covered. I worked Jan, Feb, Mar (between several snow storms). Then the owner-employee stopped the job due to Covid-19. After filing last year , I received PUA plus a state plan. I printed a 1099G from NM govt. UI. It showed taxes paid.

So, do you need a copy of it ?  Is all o-k ? Do I need to to-do ?
