Depends on your situation.

1)  IF you had a primary home in GA, and went to TX temporarily to work for a few months during 2019, then returned to your hum in GA.  Then GA can and does tax that income as a full-year resident of GA  (just temporarily staying in TX to work for awhile, or while in college there, does not make you a resident there...).  This is not unusual tax situation, and all states with an income tax would do the exact same thing in this type of situation.

2)  IF your primary home was in TX, and you worked there in 2019, then you moved yourself (and family if applicable) to GA part way thru the year and established residency there ......then you indicate that move and the move date where you entered your name in the tax program  (either the MyInfo section or the Personal Info section). That would trigger the Part-Year GA tax return.  The GA part-year tax return WILL start with your total income from everywhere, but on the Schedule 3, it will chop down that GA taxable income by the % actually earned while in GA. The TTX software will fill out those forms,  but you have to a) fill out the entire Federal tax return first (every scrap)...and then b) go thru the entire GA interview to allocate what sub-portion of the Federal income was received/earned while in GA.  It is your income allocations that chop down the GA income and eventual tax .  (this also works the same way if you moved permanently from GA to TX during 2019)

The following steps will allow you to enter the states taxes paid and reported on your Schedule K-1.  The amount entered will be included on Schedule A. 

• On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
• This opens a box where you can type in “state balance due paid” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
• The search results will give you an option to “Jump to state balance due paid”
• Click on the blue “Jump to state balance due paid” link
• Scroll to the bottom of the screen until you see Other Income Taxes Paid in 2019
• Click Start or Update beside Balance due on your 2018 state taxes paid in 2019
