I was an OH part-year resident earning income in NY during my OH residency period then moved to TX. Can I claim my TX income & NY taxes paid for calc OH resident credit.

I was an OH part-year resident earning income in NY during my OH residency period.  I subsequently moved to TX.  For calculating my resident tax credit for income taxed in other states it asks for income taxed in other states. Can I use income from Texas & New York and the taxes paid in New York.  Since Texas has no state income taxes but New York taxes are higher than Ohio, using both the NY & TX income gives me bigger credit on my Ohio return.

On your OH return, you can take a credit for tax paid to another state only when that income is taxed by both OH and the other state.  Only your NY income was taxed by both OH and the other state..
