OFFSET/OVERPAYENT

I owed the state and it was deducted from my federal however the state took the funds out as well... I called and they said that they do see the overpayments and a check will be sent to me within 60 days. I had plans with the money and that is their mistake but does anyone roughly how long does the check takes to come? Is it really within the 60 days? I read people saying they've been waiting for overpayment taxes for years. Help please

Depending which state you live in, you may have a taxpayer advocate who may be able to help.  You can go to your state website at How do I contact my state Department of Revenue?   Sometimes they can help for financial hardship situations.  You may be able to contact the agency that you owed as well.

I called and she was no help honestly she just told me maybe 2 weeks she don’t know
