NY state error: TP should not be greater than tax imposed by another state

I live in NY and earn income from NJ. I have gone through all the steps suggested on this thread (manualy entering the amount on the NY return, clearing browser cookies) but continue to get this error even though the TP amount is not greater than the tax imposed (not withheld) by NJ. I have had filed with TT and had NJ income for the past 10 years and have never gotten this error before.

My case number from my call with TT helpline (she could not find anything wrong with my entries) is [phone number removed].

Thanks in advance for the help.

NY state error: TP should not be greater than tax imposed by another state

I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the  directions below.

It looks like you are using TurboTax Online:

  1. Sign into your online account.
  2. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools
  4. On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.”

This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us.
Please provide the Token number in a reply to this post.
