Does TurboTax send supporting documentation for New Mexico tax returns in when electronically transmitting?
The email confirming my return was accepted say I may need to mail a form in, and the only one I can find in my return is PIT-8453. I am guessing this is because I need to send in my "Worksheet for Computation of Allowable Credit for Taxes Paid to Other States by New Mexico Residents and a copy of the other state's tax return".
BUT the instructions for the PIT form also say " If all supporting documents are submitted with the electronic file, form PIT-8453 is NOT required to be submitted to the Department"

The email you received states you may need to mail in the form. If you did not have anything print with the mailing instructions regarding the form then you won't need to send the form to your state.
I just went through this with Support. The short answer is yes, if filing instructions for NM have "What You Need to Sign and Mail". If it states you need to mail PIT-8453 then do so and make sure to include any other required forms, e.g. "Copy of out of state return". In our case, TurboTax generated a copy of California Non-resident return (540NR) for mailing to Santa Fe.
