New Mexico State Income Tax - Medical Rebate for Non-Resident Status

I had gambling winnings in New Mexico as the sole source of New Mexico income. Turbo Tax calculated that I qualified for the New Mexico Medical Rebate of $2800.00 since I had enough medical deductions entered  on my federal income tax form? Is this accurate?

Yes. You may claim a New Mexico Medical Care Expense Deduction.

New Mexico says filers eligible for the credit include out-of-state residents with income tax responsibility to New Mexico. The deduction allows for a subtraction of up to 25% of paid medical expenses, depending on income and filing status.

Refer to line 16 instructions for Form PIT-1.
