New 2025 WA state treasury department requirement not allowing filers to e-file unless you qualify for WFTC

I attempted to e-file today in WA state and got through the whole process and paid for a deluxe upgrade because we needed one schedule (B), only to find out at the time of filing that WA isn't allowing e-file for anyone who doesn't qualify for the WFTC (Working Families Tax Credit) which in turn is filed through a special WA state form because WA state does not have state tax. The process allowed me to skip "Start State", but at that time did not disclose it was going to be required. This is something that could have been disclosed BEFORE we went ahead and entered all the numbers and wasted the time. People use TurboTax because it's easy and allows for secure e-filing. This requirement was not put into effect by Intuit, but it could have been disclosed much earlier in the process. We are now applying for a refund and have no reason to use your service anymore.

@Dandh15 The moderators contacted me today to say that the confusion over the WA return and the working family tax credit has been fixed ---   effective late last night --- and should no longer be a problem for you or other users.

@Dandh15 A just released FAQ for this with a "work around" until the "fix" is fully effective.
