Multiple states

We moved from IN to VA in Nov 2018, but I still worked for the same org in IN.  I forgot to change state withholdings from IN to VA until mid Jan 2019, so my W2 shows state income and taxes paid for IN and VA even though I never lived or worked in IN in 2019.  I'm going to file taxes returns in both states, but not sure how I handle that the income reported for IN should have been reported in VA, and the IN state withholding should been withheld by VA.

You will need to file an Indiana nonresident state return in order to claim a refund for taxes withheld. You will need to file your Indiana return first so that your Virginia calculations will be correct. Please view the Turbotax FAQ for directions on filing a nonresident state return.

Thanks.  I did my IN state tax return in Turbo Tax as non-resident and it shows getting everything they withheld back as a refund.  I've started my VA state return so are you saying Turbo Tax will automatically adjust my VA income to include my IN income reported on my W2.

Yes, as long as you entered everything on your federal return, TurboTax will transfer it to the appropriate state return.
