I moved from NJ to SC in Feb. 2019. All state taxes on my W2 are listed as NJ, but when i have completed the NJ tax form it only shows a portion of the paid tax amount. I imported the W-2 and the amount on the import is correct, but the NJ does not show the entire amount and the SC tax form does not show any paid taxes, which is correct.

Prepare your part year NJ return first. Allocate wages earned in NJ, this is the tricky part, see below. You should be getting a refund from NJ for withholding for an entire year. Next, prepare your SC part-year resident return and allocate the remaining wages to SC. You should owe SC.
NJ wants to use your NJ wages. Figure out how much was actually earned in NJ. For example: You earned $12,000 last year, lived 2 months in NJ, then NJ would be $2,000 of income.
For the NJ part year, under the adjustments section, click start/update.

Then click continue until you reach other wage adjustments -W2
Enter the SC wages and a negative sign to subtract it from your NJ wages.

Be sure to enter the rest of your income in SC.
thank you for the response, but it still does seem correct. I lived in NJ for 15% of the year, but all my withholding taxes are designated as NJ. When i look at the return, it only shows 55-60% of the withholding as being paid to NJ. Nothing was withheld for SC so i know i owe a large amount to SC, but i'm expecting a return of about 85% of the NJ withholding. What am i missing?
Sorry for the multiple messages, but i have figured it out. dumb mistake was causing the issue.
