Hi, I'm active Army living in SC. I continue to claim TX as my residency for the tax break. Yes, I lived there and was married there. I live in SC due to a military move. I eventually plan to switch my residency after I retire but that won't be until August 1st
My question is then will TurboTax recognize that I was a resident of TX for most of the year and will SC not try to tax me for the whole year simply being a new resident for four months?

When you enter yourself and spouse int the Personal Info section...you DO NOT indicate you were in SC at the end of 2024...and you DID NOT move from TX.
For tax purposes, you were both residents of TX for the whole year.

The only time you indicate you had income from SC, would be if you-yourself worked an off-duty W-2 civilian job (or as a 1099 self-employed contractor job within SC) when off-duty in SC....only then would you be required to file an SC non-resident tax return for that particular income.
_______________
If your spouse works a W-2 job while in SC, make sure she files proper paperwork with the employer to indicate she is a military spouse, with TX residency...so she does not get taxed by SC.
