It seems like my medical expenses from Federal are not transferring to the Arizona state return.
I'm using TT Online.
I entered them into Federal even though I'm claiming the standard deduction, like I do every year.
I've read every post here in the community about medical expenses and Arizona. I am a full time Arizona resident. I have selected to itemize Arizona deductions to pull the information through, although I choose standard deduction (just like years before).
As far as I can tell, nothing has changed regarding how AZ treats medical expenses. A number of sites say it's a credit instead of a deduction.
Under the Taxes and Credits section, it lists
Taxes - Income tax - $xxxx
Credits - NONE
.
Should not the medical expenses be in that place?
I've deleted my state return and started again, I've checked and re-checked my federal deductions. And still my AZ state refund is thousands of dollars less than normal (the last ten years).
I can't seem to view the actual tax forms before filing so I can't check there either.
Help?
