Live in CA, got one 1099-Misc for $2800 in Arizona - do I have to file Arizona 2019 state tax

In 2019, I did one job in Arizona for graphic design and received a payment of $2805.00.  I have a 1099-MISC form.  I live in California.

Do I need to file Arizona state tax? Do I estimate social security and medicare? Does TurboTax do that for me on the Arizona state tax forms?

Federal and California tax is done.

No, you don't have to file an AZ income tax return because you are not required to file. See the AZ Income Tax Filing Requirements below.

You don't estimate Social Security and Medicare Taxes. TurboTax calculates Self-employment taxes (Social Security and Medicare) in the federal section of TurboTax, after you create and enter your information on Schedule C

AZ Income Tax Filing Requirements

In the state of Arizona, individuals must file a tax return if they are:

  • single, married filing separately or head of household and the Arizona Adjusted Gross Income (AAGI) is at least $5,500, or the Gross Income (GI) is at least $15,000;
  • married and filing jointly and the AAGI is at least $11,000, or the GI is at least $15,000.
