Indiana Form IN-40PNR

Indiana is not accepting my wife and my e-filed Indiana return.

My wife and I were NOT residents nor did we work in IN as of January 1, 2020 and we indicated

this in the input worksheet.  We moved to IN effective 10/1/2020.

The rejection message says there is missing or incorrect information on Form IN-40PNR. It goes on to say,

"Be sure to include your county code for any amounts you will be applying to your taxes. Remove any zero entries if the county is not being entered".

Need help correctly inputting county code where applicable.

Follow these steps:

  1. Please return to the IN state section of the program.
  2. When the program asks for your county of residence on Jan 1, 2020, click the dropdown box. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list.
  3. Select one of the bottom 7 options for out of state. You must select an option.
  4. Continue

The suggested remedy below has been tried several times without success. WE still cannot file our IN state return electronically.
