I recently tried to e-file, but my state tax return has always been rejected. After trying to use my AGI (twice), it was rejected, and I've tried to file using my Driver's License. I know for a fact that my Driver's License information was correct, and yet it is still being rejected by code IL1040-8000-2 & IL1040-8600-2.
Is there a way to e-file, or will I have to paper file?

Did a rejection message accompany the code, or was it just the code?
Yes, I was sent a rejection notice.
See the specifics of the errors below:
Illinois e-file rejects IL1040-8000-2 or IL1040-99 ...
I received this code to fix: Reject Code IL1040-8600-2 I ...
I looked into these and I didn't see anything wrong with the information. Should I start over somehow in case I missed something?
Unfortunately, when the information is correct and you have double-checked it, it is sometimes easier just to print and mail- it will save you time and aggravation in the long run because historically, you can spend time with no good results. Even though it takes longer to get the refund if you mail the return, it will be done.
your IL AGI would be the same as the federal AGI so if you successfully filed the federal 1040 the AGI used was correct.
AGI is required to efile Illinois.
maybe TT requires DL number but IL doesn't. used H&R to file son's Illinois without DL number.
Thanks. Hopefully this doesn't happen again next year.
I filed my taxes on line TurboTax my federal return was excepted my Illinois return has been rejected 4 times I called IRS they gave me my pin number which I didn't have and told me to resend it I did and that came back rejected with code 8000-2 and 8600-2 I gave my drivers license number correctly and Guy from IRS could not see anything wrong except an address change and he corrected that so the code that came up was 8000-2 on one of the rejections and 8600-2 on the last rejection.
something is wrong with the ID method you used. there is a solution if you filed an 2018 Illinois return. try to use the pin inquiry link to get it
