If you are in Minnesota, your renters rebate check will NOT be included with your regular state refund. In Minnesota there is a separate state return to file for the renters rebate called M1PR. The due date of the M1PR is Aug. 15 each year, & the renter rebates usually come in Sept.

It will be included in your state tax refund. When you file your federal and state tax returns, each credit is figured separately and then added together to give you a final credit amount. Then, your tax is deducted from this total credit amount to give you your final refund amount.
