Those "who received extensions to file their 2023 returns have until May 1, 2025, to file. Tax-year 2023 tax payments are not eligible for this extension. In addition, May 1 is also the deadline for filing 2024 returns and paying any tax due."

Also, you will need to file on paper.....by mail.

_________

For any of the "Online" users:

1)  IF your Federal and NC tax returns are otherwise complete now.  Save a copy to a PDF file right away.  You can print and file it (take them in separate envelopes to the Post Office) later with any payment due (if you owe more).   E-filing for those is effectively terminated now (with a few exceptions ).

2) IF your Fed and NC tax return needs more information to be entered later....then you will have to use the desktop 2023 software on a FULL MAC or Windows computer to complete it with TurboTax.  You will not be able to sue the "Online" software to finish it off after this month.....as that will shut down for 2023 preparation sometime later this month....(not sure exactly when)
