What does working for a week in Florida have to do with completing the Maryland MW507 for the number of exemptions you are going to claim for your state income tax withholding from your wages?  Just complete the Personal Exemptions Worksheet on page 2 of the MW507 and enter the number from Line f of the worksheet on Line 1.

I have to complete the MW507 to get my state tax withheld from this Florida paycheck.  This form asks for the number of exemptions, but also states that I cannot claim exemptions on it if I already have those for another job.  Wouldn't I already have the exemptions allowable through my W2 for MD? Should I not claim any exemptions on this form?

Florida does not have a personal income tax so there is no state income taxes withheld on the income being received from Florida.  Plus you would not complete a Maryland exemption form for income being received from another state.

No, Florida does not have a state income tax, but since MD does I need to have taxes withheld from this check.  The MW507 form is used to do this, but it is asking for information on line one regarding exemptions.  This is my confusion...do I include an exemptions? I am trying to get the proper amount of MD state tax withheld from this check before it is sent to me and I have to use this form to do so.

Was this income from your Maryland employer for the work done in Florida?  Or were you paid by a company in Florida who was not your employer?

Then you cannot in any way have Maryland state income taxes withheld from those wages.  The Florida company will not withhold Maryland wages for the income earned in Florida.  And Maryland does not and cannot require Maryland state income taxes to be withheld from wages earned in a state other then Maryland.
Maryland and all other states require that you report all income received, regardless of whether the income was received from in the state or outside the state.
You as the employee cannot have Maryland state income taxes withheld from income earned in another state by submitting a Maryland exemption form.
Contact your Maryland employer if you have any questions concerning this Florida income.

I thought you had to pay your home state (MD) on your income regardless of where you earned it (FL).  I believe that's why FL wants me to complete this form.  ???

You will report the income received from Florida when you file your state tax return along with the income you received from Maryland.
Assuming that you were not an employee of the Florida company, then you would be receiving a Form 1099-MISC instead of a W-2 from them.  You would have been paid as an independent contractor and not as an employee.
