I earned some income at a school in Upper West Side of New York City. TurboTax thinks it's in Yonkers and assumes I'm a nonresident there. How do I get rid of Yonkers?

On the "Your City Residency Information" page, I see a table that says in the first row, "New York City: Nonresident" and then in the second row, "Yonkers: Nonresident." The edit button allows me to change myself to a part-year resident or full-year resident of Yonkers, but I need to get rid of Yonkers altogether.

You do not have to remove the Yonkers information. Just leave it the way it is. All it's saying is that you were not a resident of Yonkers, which is true. It does not mean that you worked in Yonkers.

When you file a New York tax return, TurboTax needs to know whether you were a resident of Yonkers at any time during the year. It has nothing to do with where you worked.
