I didn't think KPERS was supposed to be taxable on Kansas State returns (only Federal), but I don't see how to exclude it. What am I missing?

You have to go back and edit the 1099-R entry in federal tax, and one of the followup questions will ask you to "Select Your State" then you can indicate that it is KPERS. This will exclude it from Kansas tax. (See below, it will not be exactly the same but similar screens)
