I didn’t owe any taxes in 2019 but TurboTax is saying I need to complete form 540 and I’m not sure why ?

Form 540 is the income tax form you need to file a California State Tax return. It is is not available until 01/28. If you have income that needs to be reported on a California return, you need to file on form 540.

Hi, do you know when form 540NR will be available?  I contacted the CA FTB and they mentioned TurboTax gets the forms in advance so it should be available.  Thanks!
