I am a sole proprietor. Somehow Turbotax premier asks me to fill out California F568 which appears to be LLC. How do I fix this?

Please let me know how/where to fix this.

From previous posts it appears that single member LLC was selected in the CA business summary.  If that's the case, could you please let me know where I can find the CA business summary and change it back?

To revise your answer to the SMLLC question in California state taxes, follow these steps:

1. Open your return and click on State Taxes.
2. On the California Taxes page, click Edit beside Income and adjustments.
3. Under Business, click Start/Revisit beside Business Profit or Loss Adjustment.
4. Click Edit beside the business that was reported as needing Form 568.
5. Click "NO" that this business is not owned by a Single Member LLC.
6. Continue to the end of the section.

Unfortunately I have already completed F568 and submitted it along with the state return.  Do you happen to know how I can correct this mistake?  Shall I use Turbotax Premier to file an amendment return?  If so, how can I do that?  Turbotax Premier charged me $35 to file the state return.  Will I be charged for another $35 to file an amendment return?

You don't need to file an amended federal tax return since it's a California form you need to correct. 

To fix this, amend your state return (see below) and zero out the information on Form 568. Attach a statement to the amended 568 indicating that the form was filed in error. You'll only mail in the amended Form 568 and the explanation - not your entire CA state return.

Follow the steps below to file access your filed return and change Form 568 with TurboTax Online:

1. Open TurboTax.
2. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and select the year you want to amend.
3. Select Amend (change) return, then Amend using TurboTax Online.
4. On the screen OK, let's get a kickstart on your 20XX amended return, select The IRS or state sent me a notice (this option will let you to amend only your state return without making changes to your federal) and Continue.
5. On the next screen, select Something Else and Continue.
6. On the screen Tell us which 20XX return(s) you want to amend, select 20XX state.
7. Continue until the Let's Amend your State Taxes screen. Select Amend next to your state return, and continue through the screens to make your changes.

Unfortunately, I am using TurboTax Premier Windows version.  Would it be possible for you to let me know how to fix my mistake (erroneously filed form 568 as single member LLC while I should file as a sole proprietor) using the TurboTax Premier Windows version?

To amend a state return using TurboTax Desktop (any version):

1. Open your return.
2. Under Need to File an Amended Return?, select Amend a Filed Return.
3. Select Amend for the return you need to amend.
4. Select Continue on the We’ll help you change (amend) your return screen.
5. Select Yes, I’ve already filed my return.
6. Choose the option that best applies when asked Tell us a little more about your amend situation and Continue.
7. On the next screen, select Update next to State Return.
8. Continue through the screens to make the necessary changes to your state return.
