I received a notice that the CA form 540 had an update. I received a message that said all I had to do was open TURBOTAX and it would automatically update. I did all of that. I am still getting a DO NOT FILE message. So, I think I'm not updating. Can you please just send me the update? thanks.
I cannot send you the update--this is a public forum, and I do not have access to your account. Are you working in TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop? Please advise so I can look this up for you.
Okay, sorry. I am not getting the updates from TURBOTAX even though they have sent me an email advising that the form 540 California is ready for update. So I opened up my TURBOTAX desktop version and there was no update. I even tried manually updating it and still no luck. So what can I do now?
After you updated, did you try rebooting?
I have finally resolved my issue. Something was preventing the auto-download, so I went thru the menu and found the download button. It finally started downloading the update and I was able to finish my return.
I think part of problem was is that I'm running Windows 7 still. I'm not real confident in the software being able to function smoothly. I will perhaps do something different for next years return. Maybe upgrading to Windows 10, but that's my last solution. Yes, I am a die hard Windows 7 user. There is also Linux based systems that will run Turbotax too.
