Former employer incorrectly withheld taxes on one paycheck for a state I never worked in or lived in.
I live and worked remotely in Georgia for a California company, but they withheld taxes for Virginia on one paycheck. They refused to correct their error and told me I could fix myself it at tax time. How complicated is this going to be to process?

You would need to file a non-resident tax return for the state in which the tax was withheld. It might be more expensive for you to pay for the TT software to do that than the refund you could get---so do the math. Or....go on the state's tax site to see if you can get the form to prepare it by hand.
