I did my taxes, double checked the numbers....and then upon filing last night, I see I have to submit an additional few forms:
Send Form 804, Claim for Decedent's Wisconsin Income Tax
| Refund with Form W-RA. You can obtain a copy of this form
| from www.revenue.wi.gov/html/formpub.html.
|
| You entered Gains or Losses adjustments on Schedule I that
| require attachments. Be sure to enclose a revised federal
| Form 1040, Schedule D, Form 4684, and/or Form 4797 marked
| 'Revised for Wisconsin Purposes'.
I have never had to send those in before though I have had nearly the same tax info from year to year. And the biggest concern is the decedent form--I am not trying to claim anyone's taxes that has passed away and certainly didn't answer that I was. Help!

We have found that several state forms are still unavailable and therefore causing errors on tax returns with no related income or deduction. When those errors are corrected and final versions are sent to TurboTax this will usually correct the problem. We do not have a specific date and time of these corrections but suggest that you try a few of the simple fixes like clear your cookies, reboot your computer then log back into your account to see if that helps. If not, then I suggest you give it a few days then check back to see if you can file.
Cookies are small files that temporarily store data on your computer. We use them to personalize your experience so you see information you already entered and not items that are irrelevant or repetitive.
On rare occasions, they may make your browser think you already did something that you still need to do. To fix that, you'll need to delete (clear) the cookies from your browser.
Each browser has a slightly different method for deleting cookies. Choose the browser you're using:
I already submitted them electronically before I realized the coversheets indicated the required forms. Because I KNOW I filled nothing out about those, is it ok to ignore the suggestion to send those forms in entirely? I'm just trying to make sure the state isn't waiting on a non-existent 804 for a return that doesn't need it. If the problem lay exclusively with turbo tax, and it didn't get passed on the state causing an ultimate rejection, that's fine.
If you are certain that you have no requirement for a form 804 then you shouldn't send it. Sending a blank tax form to Wisconsin just seems mean.
