Should I change my resident status since I've moved from Hawaii to join the Reserves in California, even though my LES says my Home of Record is Nevada?

For tax purposes your Home of Record is Nevada, which is generally a good one to have as they have no state income tax.

If you change your Home of Record to Hawaii or Calfornia you may have state income taxes to deal with.

For the 2017 return go by the Home of Record, of Nevada.
