Am ready to Efile taxes and state shows I ow $491. But, when I go to efile it says $0 due for state. Very confused as to what I really owe or do I?

You need to look on the printout of your state tax return. Toward the bottom, it will say how much tax you owe or the refund amount if applicable. That is what you should go by to determine if you owe anything.
Thank you for reply.
I was leaning towards what you had stated but will admit my confusion was when I went to file taxes (eFile) it states I owe $0. So I guess I cannot eFile but will mail in my return. Just did not understand the differences as this has not happened before.
Again - if you can explain this so I can eFile that would be great. If not, I thank you and will print my return and mail on

I am having the same issue with my PA state return. I want to know what happens if I proceed to e-file?
