e-file for State returns

I e-filed my federal taxes a week ago.  Now I am trying to e-file the Michigan state return.

The program will not let me.  It keeps saying that the federal return must be selected.

What is the problem?

I filed my federal return and now I went back and did my Ohio state return but when I go to file the return electronically it says I have to submit my federal return which I already submitted. How do I now submit my Ohio return electronically?
