Does anyone know where to date & sign on the special format on Form 540 CA tax return?

If you are e-filing, you can electronically sign your return.   Are you trying to file your CA return by mail?

Yes, I'm going to do it by mail. The previous or old format indicates where to date and sign before mailing. The 2024 Special Formatting on Form 540 CA tax return only shows the numbers on all pages but nothing else. Therefore, I don't know if the date and signature are needed or not. I see a lot of empty boxes without any wording throughout the pages except the Fed one, which I've already filed electronically.

You must sign and date your state return. Since you don't see the signature section, you can sign and date at the bottom of the last page.

 Page 6 of 2024 Form 540 California Resident Income Tax Return shows the signature information is the last part of the return.

The link you sent me is the old formatting. The one I filed with the 2024 TurboTax desktop version stated that special formatting on the instructions page.  As I mentioned before, all pages on Form 540 CA are filled with numbers only, not a single text, instruction, or whatsoever.

There's a page where only the phone number and the word SELF-PREPARED are preprinted. I assume I'll use that page to date and sign where they apply.

I just printed a California Form 540 to PDF from TurboTax Desktop, and it displayed all 6 pages normally with text. If you are seeing only numbers, see if you can save the form to a PDF before printing.
