I am actually a part-year resident for 2024 with first 6 months having lived and worked in-person in GA, then last 6 months having lived in CA and taught remotely for the GA university from CA. My W2 lists all 12 months wages as GA income and GA tax was withheld on it (no CA wages listed or tax withheld).
So I'll be filing as part-year resident for GA as well as CA: first 6 months as GA resident with GA sourced income, and last 6 months as CA resident with CA sourced income. Essentially get refund for last 6 months tax paid to GA, and pay tax to CA for these 6 months. Is this correct?
