Cost to file state return

Yesterday I filed my state return at a cost of $21.24 and this morning I filed my handicapped son's return and was charged 26.55. Why a difference of $5.31?

2024 Return had to be amended due to a missing file that I later personally paid. I'm not sure which I'm meant to check off. How do I not mess this up?
