I am reaching out for support and clarification regarding the ability to e-file Vermont state taxes using TurboTax Online for the 2024 tax year. My federal return was successfully filed and accepted on 1/28/2025, with the direct deposit refund pending. However, I am encountering issues with my state return.
On 1/28, a message indicated that Vermont state forms were not yet available and would be ready for e-filing on 1/30/2025. According to the Tax Form Availability page, all applicable Vermont forms are now available. However, my TurboTax account still shows the state return as "Ready to Mail" despite selecting e-file. Additionally, when downloading the state return, I noticed that each page is prominently watermarked "DO NOT FILE – FORM NOT FINAL."
Another point of confusion is that the return is marked as "recomputed." Given these discrepancies, I would appreciate clarification on the following:
- When will Vermont state tax forms be fully finalized and available for e-filing on TurboTax Online?
- If the forms are indeed ready as indicated on the Tax Form Availability page, why is e-filing not currently an option?
- Why is the return showing a "Ready to Mail" status, and is filing a paper copy necessary?
- If mailing is required, why are the forms watermarked with "DO NOT FILE – FORM NOT FINAL"?
- What does the "recomputed" status indicate?
- Can anyone provide an estimated timeline for resolution?
