Why do you think that CA taxed your unemployment?
California return
Unemployment compensation is nontaxable for state purposes. Make a subtraction adjustment on the unemployment compensation line, in column B, of California Adjustments – Residents (Schedule CA 540). TurboTax does this automatically. When you go through the state return, ensure your unemployment was subtracted. Specifically, look at Line 7, the full amount of your unemployment should be subtracted in Column B. Click on Forms in the upper right and scroll to the bottom to see your CA forms.
TurboTax calculations are correct and up-to-date for your state (CA).
