Arizona form 323

I did not make a contribution to a state tuition organization in 2021 (not since 2017), however, I could not proceed with filing my Arizona state taxes until I entered a date for my contribution (which was $0.00).  I tried to figure a way to work around this, however I just ended up entering 12/31 as the date for my contribution of $0.00.  I hope that works out and I hope they fix that problem.

It will work out. If you entered $0 for an Arizona 529 deduction, then you did not claim an incorrect deduction. Zero = no deduction and no change on your tax return.

You may have received those 529 questions because TurboTax asks in the Arizona section to check YES or NO to "Did you contribute to any 529 college savings plan?" That question only refers to 2021. However if you said YES you'll see more questions asking about a contribution.

Arizona allows taxpayers to deduct up to $2,000 ($4,000 for married couples filing jointly) of contributions to state 529 college savings plan.

For details see Arizona 529 College Savings Plan

Form 323 keeps asking for a contribution date for 2022. I filled in 2021 but haven't made a contribution yet this year. I filled in zero for the amount for 2022 and it still keeps asking for a date.

I gave up and filled in 01/01, and it was accepted!
