Approval after filing

Hello:

I filed my taxes on Jan 9, 2020. My federal tax returns got approved a few days after, but my state refund still says "pending" as of today (Jan 23, 2020). Any reason why that may be? This is only my 4th year filing (first out on my own) so I'm still learning. TIA 🙂

Some states may not start accepting returns until the office IRS open date of January 27th.
