I lived in Virginia in 2020 and moved to Maryland Feb 2021. I am being asked to enter in “TP State Refund” Where do I find this information?

Are you being asked this in the federal or state section? If in the federal section, if you received a state refund, you should have received a 1099-G from the state. If you do not have one and believe you received a refund from VA you can call VA Dept. of Taxation at (804) 367-8031 to get that information. This would only be relevant if you itemized your return last year.
If you are being asked this in your state section on duplicated income, this would be your refund amount for 2021 from VA or MD. For VA, your refund would be listed on line 36 of your form 760PY or on line 51 for your MD form 505.
TP = TaxPayer
SP = SPouse
1. This is being asked in the State review Section on the "Check This Entry" screen-"760PY INC: State refund received by taxpayer while a resident of Virginia."
2. I did a standard deduction last year
3. I just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly--If I received a tax refund in 2021 from the state of Virginia for tax year 2020, this is the amount I am entering into "TP State Refund: _____?"
-thank you 🙂
