1099 NEC

I received a 1099NEC. The company I provided work for is based in Va and I live in NC snd the work was performed in NC, and the only boxes that have information in them are Box 1 and Box7. It won’t allow me to continue without box 6 state or state number. What can I do to continue?

If box 5 is blank or zero, leave boxes 5, 6, and 7 empty in TurboTax. Do not enter the amount in box 7.

Since Box 5 and 6 were left blank, while inputting this 1099-NEC into TurboTax, you'll need to leave Boxes 5-7 all blank.  This income will be taxable to North Carolina, and since that is your home state, it will automatically be taxed there.
