I am unable to efile me NJ return because turbo tax is giving me a message that "returns with pass through business alternative income tax credit are not eligable..".  I have no business income, no form 8995, K1, Sched E...?  This happened after I downloaded the update function this morning to get the final NJ DOP form so I could file.  My federal return was already filed and accepted.  Please advise.  Thanks.

    Same here. No idea what the Pass-through Business Alternative Tax Credit is, nor how to find it in my return, nor have I ever used it before in TT.  I googled it, and I can't imagine any relevance.

    I am having the same issue I spoke to 4 representatives from turbo tax and they either had no clue or blamed it on my job.

    you would think Turbo Tax would have done something by now to fix the situation or put out a statement

    Have the same error and my son as well.  all after downloading the updates we all have been waiting for since receiving the NJ DOP error originally.  That appears to be fixed but like so many others this one showed up.  Interestingly it showed up at the end of final checks and not at the NJ check process.  Is this a NJ error or a TT error in the program???  anyone know what DOP stands for???

    DOP = disposition of property.

    This HAS to be intentional by both NJ and turbo tax - NJ probably can't handle the volume and they do it this way to screw us over.

    I have the same problem...I am not a business owner, My returns were submitted yesterday and my federal return was rejected due to a duplicate W2 .  My state was rejected due to my federal being rejected, the state software updated and now I'm getting this error "Returns with pass-through business alternative income tax credit are not eligible for electronic filing" .  How do we fix this??

    You can file the federal without the state. I would delete the duplicate and then refill the federal. As far as the NJ state return is is all messed up and everyone is getting the message that you got including me. They are saying to mail the state in. If you can hold off a little on the state end maybe TT will have it fixed and you can Efile it. If not it looks like we all have to Print and Mail it. TT in my IMO should refund us all that paid to have our state Efile.

    Sch NJ-DOP: Sch DOP, Line 4-Net gains This form may require an adjustment that has not been finalized for this release. You must obtain an update before you file your return in order to ensure that all of the calculations are correct.

    Also if you own property you will get this message: Form NJ-1040 P2: Ln 38c - Owned Home County Muni Code should be blank.

    ir should not be Blank. Seems to be fixed for some but still getting these errors that prevent you from Efile.

    Update: What I did to have the system force Efile was. Erased the tax lot and block numbers in smart check. Went back to my Federal return and erased the 1099B imports. Manually input the information myself. Use Total sales do not list them one by one. That fixed the issue. It seems that if you have more then 100 transactions.The state system can not handle it. I believe it’s the same with MA as well. I hope this helps at least one Person good luck everyone. This was to correct the other issues that I was having with TT not just Biz Pass through error. This will correct
